Kidsave exists to change this. Miracle Walk, which is Kidsave LA’s primary annual fundraiser designed to increase awareness of, and interest in Kidsave’s unique and important programs created to help find families for older foster children in the greater Los Angeles area. Funds raised from our Miracle Walk event will be used entirely to support Kidsave’s Weekend Miracles programs in partnership with the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services. Weekend Miracles (WM) provides a new way to find adoptive parents for older foster youth, ages 9 to 16 and to successfully place waiting children in adoptive homes by increasing the children's visibility and accessibility to people who can help them find permanent homes. Covina: Volunteers are needed for our Homework Center. Homework Center volunteers commit to volunteering once a week throughout the school year. Teens: We use 8th-12th grade students as peer tutors in our Homework Center. Eighth grade students must get straight As, while high school students must be on their school’s honor roll. These informal guided tours take place on paved, gently sloping trails along the bluff edge and though the habitat corridor. Docents provide information about the history, geology, marine ecology and habitat restoration work of the Ocean Trails project.
